The Barry-Goddessa storyline just took its most direct turn yet, and this time Araga’s name is right in the middle of it.
In the clip, Barry seems to acknowledge the obvious himself, telling Goddessa: “it looks like I am chasing another man’s girlfriend.” Goddessa brushes it off, insisting she doesn’t see it that way: “how, I don’t know anybody here, everybody is as new here to me.” Barry isn’t convinced, pointing straight at her closeness with Araga: “but you sleep together, cook for him and do everything with him.” Goddessa’s response is the line now doing the rounds: “he don’t own me.”
That’s a notable thing to say out loud, especially with everything Aradess has built up all season the kiss, the rocky patch, the emotional reconciliation, even Araga cooking for her just days ago.
Goddessa isn’t denying the closeness with Araga, she’s just drawing a clear line that it doesn’t come with ownership or exclusivity, at least not in her own words.
Combined with Barry’s own recent admission that nothing real can happen with Neche, and his earlier comment calling Goddessa “long term,” this conversation reads like Barry being genuinely intentional about pursuing her, Araga situation and all. Whether Goddessa’s response is her keeping her options open or just refusing to be boxed in by assumptions, it’s landing as one of the more direct moments in this whole tangled storyline.
We’ll be watching closely to see how this affects Aradess going forward, especially if Araga catches wind of the conversation.
